Job Purpose (1-2 Lines)

Looking for a synthetic organic/physical chemist (PhD Organic/physical Chemistry) who will be able to address synthetic challenges, investigate mechanistic aspects and support scale-up activities in the process research and development group. Experience in using analytical PAT tools for mechanistic driven optimization

Key Responsibilities: (Maximum 5-8 Points)

The candidate should be willing to work in the lab as an individual contributor with responsibilities towards development of safe and robust chemical processes for the preparation of intermediates/API in support of drug development activities.

Development work includes:

  • Investigate mechanistic aspects using PAT tools
  • Willing to carry out reactions at bench to support R&D activities 
  • Fit for purpose, accelerating API delivery  
  • Mechanistic driven optimization and collaborate with other stakeholders for rapid delivery of API’s.
  • Providing insights and innovative solutions to project team members in order   to address process related challenges/process safety, understand key impurities formation during reaction and isolation stages – propose relevant mechanisms.
  • Candidate should communicate effectively with his own team members as well as with multiple teams like process engineering, process safety, analytical etc.
  • Communicating & documenting development on the project through regular updates with concerned stakeholders.

Educational Qualification:  

PhD in organic/physical chemistry with postdoctoral experience (1-3 year) candidate from reputed institute/university (India/abroad).

 

Technical/functional Skills: (Maximum 4-6 Points)

 

Essential:

  • Good understanding of organic chemistry fundamentals and reaction mechanisms.
  • Strong track record of publications in reputed international journals.
  • Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams of process R and D, analytical team, pilot plant, process safety, quality control and quality assurance personnel.

 

Preferable:

  • Previous experience in Pharmaceutical Process R&D.
  • Understanding of analytical data generated from NMR, HPLC, GC, IR, Raman, etc.
  • Experience in using analytical PAT tools like React IR & Raman will be an added advantage                                                                                                                                                                                           Willingness to work with Catalysis & Biocatalysis teams, and learn screening techniques to support R&D optimization
