The establishment of National Tobacco Testing Laboratories marks a major milestone in India’s Tobacco Control Programme. Over the years, this initiative has evolved through several stages — including the identification and upgradation of existing laboratories for tobacco product analysis, procurement of advanced scientific instruments, recruitment of qualified personnel, and collaboration with world-class, WHO-recognised laboratories. These efforts have collectively strengthened India’s capacity in scientific tobacco product testing and research.

Maximum Age Limit: 45 years
Monthly Consolidated Emoluments: ₹38,000/- (Rupees Thirty-Eight Thousand only)
Essential Qualification
M.Sc. or B.Sc. / B.Pharm. with three years of experience in Chemical / Physical / Biological Analysis or Computer Applications.
Desirable Qualification
Experience in operating analytical instruments or laboratory testing equipment.
Job Description
The Technical Assistant will be responsible for carrying out analytical and synthetic laboratory work, maintaining experimental data, and preparing technical reports. The role requires hands-on laboratory experience, adherence to quality control standards, and the ability to support research and analytical testing of tobacco products.
