NABI PhD Program in Biotechnology (January 2025)

Are you interested in getting a PhD in Biotechnology?

The National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is offering a PhD program in Biotechnology for students who start in January 2025. NABI is a well-respected institute and this program is approved by the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB).

Who can apply?

You must have a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Medicine or a similar field.
You need to have good grades in your Master’s degree (at least 55%, with some relaxation for certain categories).
You must have passed a national level test to be eligible for a PhD program. This could be a fellowship test or an entrance exam from a government agency.
There are a limited number of fellowships available for students who don’t have their own funding but did well on national exams.

The program covers many areas of Biotechnology, including:

Agriculture
Food
Nutrition
Plants
Information Technology for Biology
Tiny technology (Nanobiosciences)
Food preservation
Specialised foods
Genes and Computers

How many students will be accepted?

There are 22 spots available for the program. Some of these spots are reserved for students from certain categories (based on Indian government guidelines).

How to apply?

You can only apply online. The application period starts on January 4th, 2025 and closes on January 31st, 2025. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for February 11th and 12th, 2025.
