What You Need to Qualify
The university follows the UGC Regulations 2018 for minimum qualifications. However, they’ve added a mandatory requirement that often trips up applicants:
Publications: You must have at least two publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science. If your research isn’t indexed in these specific databases, the screening committee might not even consider your application.
Selection Process: Meeting the basic UGC criteria doesn’t mean you’ll automatically get an interview. The university uses a Screening Committee to shortlist the most qualified candidates based on their research profile and academic record.
The Application Process (The Paperwork Part)
This isn’t an “email your resume” type of application. You have to follow a very specific physical submission process:
Download the Form: Go to dibru.ac.in and find the prescribed application form.
The Copies: You need to submit your original application along with 08 photocopies. This is a lot of paper, so make sure your copies are clear and well-organized.
The Fee: There is an application fee of ₹2,000. You can pay this via:
A Bank Draft in favor of the Registrar, Dibrugarh University, payable at Punjab National Bank, Dibrugarh University Branch (Code: 994000).
SBI Collect (If you pay this way, make sure to print the receipt and attach it to your form).
Submission Deadline: Everything needs to reach the Registrar’s office on or before May 21, 2026.
Important Note: If you previously applied for an Assistant Professor role in the Department of Petroleum Technology under the earlier Feb 2026 advertisement (A-3/2026), the university has noted that you don’t need to apply again for that specific department; your existing application will still be considered if it fits the eligibility.
Final Tip for Applicants
When you’re organizing those 8 photocopies, make sure your “Pharmaceutical Chemistry” credentials and your Scopus-indexed papers are highlighted. Since the screening committee’s decision is final, you want to make it as easy as possible for them to see that you meet every single requirement.
If you’re mailing this from outside Assam, I’d suggest using Speed Post a few days early to ensure it lands in Dibrugarh before the 21st.
