DBT-Biotech Industrial Training Programme 2025–26

DBT-Biotech Industrial Training Programme Objective:

To provide hands-on industrial training to students in biotechnology and bioinformatics, facilitating their transition into the industry and helping companies identify skilled talent.

Training Details:

Duration: 6 months
Stipend:
- Rs. 10,000/month (by DBT) — paid after successful completion & assessment
- Rs. 9,000/month minimum (by host industry) — as per apprenticeship norms
Bench Fee to Companies: Rs. 23,350/- per trainee (paid by DBT)

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality: Indian citizens residing in India
Education:
- Degrees: B.E./B.Tech., M.Sc., M.Tech., M.VSc., MBA
- Fields: Biotechnology / Bioinformatics
- From recognized Indian universities
- Must have graduated in 2022–23, 2023–24, or 2024–25
- Minimum 50% marks or equivalent grades
- Includes students from DBT-supported PG programs

Selection Process:

Mode: Computer-based test (CBT)
Test Centres: Multiple cities across India
Placement in Industry: Subject to availability

Certification:

After training, candidates must undergo an online assessment by the Sector Skill Council.
Successful candidates will receive an Apprenticeship Certificate under the NSQF (National Skill Qualification Framework).
